Gastro-oesophageal reflux is a condition in which some of the mixture of food and acid in your child’s stomach travels the wrong way: it goes up the oesophagus (gullet) instead of down into the small intestine. This can irritate the oesophagus, causing your child discomfort in their chest, and can cause crying.
There are certain investigations we can do to see what exactly is going through the gullet and into the stomach, which may comprise endoscopy (camera), contrast studies, reflux GI physiology.
